With the holidays approaching, Kansas Family Partnership hopes parents will take advantage of the school break by connecting more with their kids using Family Day Campaign materials! Whether it’s building a snowman, making hot cocoa or having dinner as a family, everyday activities offer opportunities to communicate with kids, and our materials can help parents get started. As kids get older, it’s critical for parents to keep lines of communication open, especially during teenage years when kids are exposed to risky behaviors like smoking, drinking or using other drugs. By asking kids about their lives and really listening to what’s on their minds, parents can show they’re willing to discuss any issue, including peer pressure to use substances. Parents can find conversation starters, activity ideas and more fun for the holidays by downloading our Family Day Campaign materials!
